Blizzard PeeWees Looking for Players! |
|
|
The Blizzard PeeWee youth hockey team is a mixed-year travel team consisting of players with '96 and '97 birth years, based out of The Rinks at Exeter, in Exeter, NH. The team participates in the Valley Hockey League, a Massachusetts-based youth hockey league. The Blizzard organization provides us with fixed practice times at our home rink (see schedule), skills training every couple of weeks, and at least one game a weekend.
Valley League News:
v Everett: Jarrod Guertin and Tennison Hammond both had 2-3-5, Corey Powell scored four goals, Liam Ross also wore the hat and had an assist, Matt Papalian posted 1-3-4 and Doug Vaillancourt added two assists as the Blizzard scored a big win over Everett.
v Triton: Pat Cronin delivered 1-3-4, Jarrod Guertin and Matt Papalian both had 2-1-3 and Jack Spitzer added two assists as the Blizzard defeated Triton, 6-1
v. Chelmsford: Corey Powell had 2-1-3, Liam Ross 1-2-3 and Tennison Hammond two goals as the Blizzard beat Chelmsford, 7-2
v. Lex/Bedford: Pete Smith pitched a shutout and Jarrod Guertin scored the game’s only goal with :13 left as the Blizzard edged Lexington/Bedford, 1-0
v. Wakefield: Zac Kane (1-1-2) scored with :09 left to give Wakefield a 3-3 tie with the Blizzard, who got two goals from Liam Ross.
v. Watertown: Matt Papalian snapped a 2-2 tie with 9:56 left and the Blizzard defeated Watertown, 4-2, despite two goals by Jonpaul Addorisio.
v. Cape Ann: Pat Cronin and Bryce Pietrini both posted 1-1-2 as the Blizzard topped Cape Ann, 5-3
v. Agawam: Matt Papalian wore a natural hat and had an assist and Bryce Pietrini and Tennison Hammond both posted 2-1-3 as the Blizzard snowed Agawam, 7-1
GOLD SOUTH NATIONAL PLAYOFF RESULTS
The third-seeded Blizzard won the championship!
In the quarterfinals, Matt Papalian had a goal and three assists and Doug Vaillancourt scored twice as the No. 3 Blizzard topped No. 6 Cape Ann, 8-3, Josh Randazzo with two goals and Cam Collins 1-1-2 in the loss;
In the semifinals, Liam Ross and Bryce Pietrini both scored twice and Papalian had 1-1-2 in the Blizzard’s 5-2 victory over Agawam, which got 1-1-2 apiece from Woodman and Wilson.
In the final, Ross had the winner late in the second period of the Blizzard’s 2-1 win over Watertown.

In the crossover game, Ross scored four goals, Papalian also wore the hat, adding an assist, and Steve Deschene added two assists in the Blizzard’s 8-1 win over Triton.
